For generations, stamp collectors have relied on flat, printed gauges to measure stamp perforations, often struggling to align stamps precisely with tiny dots or lines, The result was guesswork, eye strain, and inconsistent measurements.
The new 3D Perforation Gauge, available exclusively from USatFACE of Kansas City, introduces an entirely different approach. Instead of forcing the collector to align the stamp, the gauge itself does the work.
This three-dimensional design features precisely spaced "islands" that the stamp fits snugly against. When the perforation spacing is correct, the stamp seats cleanly and evenly. When it is not, the mismatch is immediately obvious, eliminating doubt and reducing errors. See the images of a US stamp being measured by 9 and 10 perfs.
This positive-fit design allows collectors to measure perforations faster, more accurately, and with far less effort.
The gauge covers the most commonly encountered perforation spacing from 8 to 14.5 in convenient 1/2 step increments, and can be easily rotated to access either row of measurements as seen in the photos. The gauge is approximately 7 x 2.5 inches.
For advanced collectors, custom gauges with 1/4 step increments are available by special order. Please contact USatFACE for details and pricing.
